Random...

Is it just me or is Halloween the new Christmas? I swear I've been busier this week than I am the week before Christmas. We've had a Halloween party or playdate everyday and are booked through Sunday (atleast I'm getting my money's worth out of those costumes, right?). OK it didn't help that I was co-chairing my MOMS Club Halloween bash for the 60 who RSVP'd yes. That was a lot of planning, shopping and putting together more goodie bags then I've ever had to do at one time. It's great to be so busy and the kids are loving every minute. It's barely Halloween, I'm going to be burnt out by Thanksgiving and might not make it to Christmas.

I've been so busy I missed Wordless Wednesday yesterday. So to make up for it, here's a few pics

Baby L dressed as a penguin

I love this costume! Yes, it's adorable but that's not the only reason. Baby L's hands are covered by the flippers which is perfect because he's crawling. While we were at a party I didn't have to worry about him crawling around on the dirty floor and then sticking his hands back in his mouth. His hands stayed clean the whole time. Brilliant!

This is how I found Baby L napping. If you can't tell he was sitting up and then bent over and fell asleep. Doesn't look too comfy to me but he didn't seem to mind it. No, I didn't leave him like this.

Don't forget my Holiday Extravaganza starts Nov 16th. That's just a little over two weeks away. I'm really excited about this big event. Make sure to grab the button because it will be worth extra entries into all of the giveaway.

"Cookie" and "Diet" in the same sentence?

Can it be? A cookie diet? Eat cookies as a meal? Is this for real?

Yes, it's for real.

After having another baby just a few months ago, I wanted to shed the baby weight. I was excited when asked if I wanted to try The Hollywood Cookie Diet. Eating cookies to lose weight is a dream of many people. Unfortunately, as I was taking my first bite of the Lemon cookie I noticed the warning sign on the side of the box to not eat if pregnant or nursing. Since I'm still nursing Baby L, I had to put the cookie down. In comes my lucky sister-in-law E. I passed the cookies on to her because she was just starting a diet herself.

The Hollywood Cookie Diet comes in 3 tasty flavors - Chocolate Chip, Lemon and Oatmeal Raisin. You eat a cookie for breakfast, lunch and two snacks. The Hollywood Cookie Diet's website even gives you sensible dinner choices to complete your day. Each cookie contains approximately 150 calories and necessary nutrients for the day so eating the cookies help to relieve your hunger while helping you lose weight.

E eats her cookies and has this to say "I was expecting a hard cardboard tasting cookie. I was surprised that the cookie was actually soft and moist. The chocolate chip was my favorite of the three. To be honest, it's not exactly a Mrs. Field's from the mall but it was a good cookie. It doesn't have that weird diet taste. If you had just given me the cookie I wouldn't have guessed it was for a diet. It was hard at first to only eat that for breakfast after not eating all night but it was a good filling snack throughout the day." In the first week with cookies and exercise she lost 4 lbs.

You can purchase any of the cookie flavors or the variety pack for just $19.95 a box. With 12 cookies in each box, that is less than $2.00 per serving. Also, in these busy times, it is perfect for meals on the go.

Dabney Lee at Home

Meal time with kids can be a chore. It's crazy how one little person can make such a big mess. I've always been a fan of placemats especially since the kids came along. Having to wash placemats over and over again and worry about stains can get tiresome. I was excited when I was asked if I wanted to review placemats from Dabney Lee at Home.

"Dabney Lee believes...
simple pleasures are a must have
you should never arrive at someone’s home without a thoughtful gift
your monogram is a work of art
your home office should inspire and dazzle you
color has no rules"

I received both a laminated and paper placemats. They were in true Dabney Lee fashion with their bright colors and dazzling designs. The paper placemats are 11x17 matte paper and comes in a set of 25. They are made of a thick durable paper almost like a cardstock and are disposable which made cleanup a breeze. They're perfect for adding instant style to any table. There are so many designs to choose from and you can even add your monogram or a cute saying. Here are just a few examples of Dabney Lee's designs.

I have to say though my favorite was the laminated placemat. You can choose from the same fun colors and designs of the paper placemats and then get it laminated. I loved the laminated one the best because it was easy to wipe clean, I didn't have to worry about spills leaking through and the kids couldn't tear it up. You are able to use the same one placemat over and over again.

Stop by Dabney Lee at Home and check out their variety of stylish and colorful products.

I received the placemats free of charge. It was the only form of "payment" I received. The views and opinions are my own.

Pulse Yoga DVD Giveaway

The holidays are coming and I know I'm not the only one who has a routine of indulging in all of the yummy holiday treats. Then New Years rolls around and my resolution is to lose the extra pounds because of those treats. Well why not start your resolution a little early this year with the Pulse Yoga DVD?

"A basic yoga routine that introduces the Pulse concept of micro movements within a posture. Key areas such as abdominal, lower back and gluteous muscles are targeted. Alternating right/left pulse movements with free weights define and sculpt the upper body.
-Apply the use of free weights in novel ways to basic yoga postures
-Strengthen and tone key areas such as the abdominals, lower back and upper arms
-Teach core awareness
-Stretch chronically tight areas such as the hamstrings and hip flexors
60 Minutes

Only $14.99

"Pulse Yoga is a result of my personal quest to find yoga routines that accomplish much more than other yoga styles. A few years ago I was diagnosed with osteopenia. This is almost osteoporosis, but not quite. I was shocked as I have been practicing yoga for so many years and consider myself to be in very good physical condition. The doctor told me that I needed to do some sort of weight training program. I have never really liked working out in a gym, always preferring yoga. I also did not want to give up precious time allotted to my yoga practice, so I decided to incorporate free weights into my yoga routines.

As a woman in my 50's, I also wanted more toning, strengthening and increased muscle definition, again without using machines in the gym. So, in addition to the free weights, I added micro movements that primarily target areas such as the gluteous muscles, abdominals, upper arms and lower back. These micro movements within the yoga postures are highly effective with results that are noticeable immediately."

Want to win your own copy of Pulse Yoga? One random Oh My Baby reader will win! Leave me a comment by Nov 12th telling me one thing you learned about Pulse Yoga or it's founders. Winner will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be chosen.

YoBaby Review and Giveaway

If you've got a little one at home I'm sure you've atleast heard of Stonyfield YoBaby yogurts. If you haven't tried them, then you're missing out. Well your little one is missing out.

J loved YoBaby yogurts when he was younger. He had one every morning for breakfast. I was excited when Baby L was old enough to eat them because I knew he would love them just as much.

YoBaby has come out with a new line of products: YoBaby Meals. YoBaby Meals offer a unique 3-in-1 combination of protein-packed yogurt + fruit + veggie purée in one cup. They come in 3 delicious flavors: Pear & Green Bean, Peach & Squash, Apple & Sweet Potato. YoBaby is still all natural and certified organic, made with milk from cows fed organic feed and not treated with antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.

At first thought, the sound of pears, green beans and yogurt together wouldn't be my first combination choice but I have to say I was surprised. I always take a little taste of everything I feed my kids (sometimes it's the only time I get to eat). The fruit and veggie puree is at the bottom of the cup and you mix it together with the smooth yogurt. The Peach & Squash was Baby L's favorite flavor. Those were two of his favorite foods to begin with so I think the yogurt just added to the tasty goodness. He gobbled up the whole thing in one sitting.

Want to try new YoBaby Meals for yourself? Stonyfield is giving one Oh My Baby reader the following

- 1 Yobaby travel bowl with lid and utensils
- 1 organic cotton Yobaby bib
- 1 Eric Carle growth chart
- 5 free Yobaby meals coupons

Leave a comment by November 9th with a comment telling me what flavor you want to try most. One random winner will be chosen and have 48 hours to respond. US addresses only please.

Funky Monkey Snacks Review and Giveaway

Bananamon and Jivealime! Those are just some of the flavors by Funky Monkey Snacks...and funky they are. In a good way of course!

"Funky Monkey Snacks are freeze dried fruit - all natural, with no added sugar, preservatives, colors or flavors. They are gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free. They come in four delicious flavors: Bananamon (banana and cinnamon), Carnaval Mix (banana, pineapple, apple, papaya and raisins), Jivealime (pineapple and lime juice) and Purple Funk (banana and acai berries)"

I have to admit that at first site they looked pretty funky, especially the Purple Funk (which turned out to be my favorite of the 4). I loved the fact that when you looked on the back for the ingredients it would say (for example the Jivealime) "Freeze Dried Organic Pineapple and Lime Juice". That's it! Nothing else is added. No big words about weird things you don't know. It's all natural. The Jivealime actually reminded me of a pina colada with a hint of lime...that crunched. It was a little strange at first to get used to the crunch. By freeze drying the fruit, it helps to maintain nearly all of the flavor and nutrients found in fresh fruit. J loved the apple and papaya pieces from the Canaval Mix. I loved knowing that with every ounce he ate, he was getting 3 servings of real fruit.

Funky Monkey Snacks has been generous enough to offer an Oh My Baby reader their own snacks to try. One winner will receive all four of the flavors listed above. Leave a comment by November 4th telling me what flavor you want to try most. One winner will be chosen at random and have 48 hours to respond.

Crazy Love

Due to overwhelming demands of his fans, the new Michael Bublé album Crazy Love is being released 4 days early on Friday October 9th. How amazing is that? This should be your first sign to run out and get Michael's new album. Your second sign should come right after you check out his video for his first single off the new album

"I just haven't met you yet"

Can you honestly tell me you weren't toe-tapping to that tune? Not to mention he's pretty nice to look at huh? Crazy Love includes two original songs as well as Micheal's take on 11 songs we already love like "Georgia on My Mind" and "Heartache Tonight".

Singer and songwriter Michael Bublé has sold over 22 million albums worldwide. I became a fan after hearing his song "Home" from his previous album. I love the new single "I just haven't met you yet" and track 7 "Hold On". Michael's album has a good mix of the upbeat-head bopping tunes and as well as the slower songs that you can really feel through his words. Even my husband was impressed.

Oprah is a huge fan of Michael's and he's going to be appearing on her show. Check your local listings for day and times. If you're in the D.C. area he's on Friday, October 9th. Check out Michael's website for all the latest and greatest news, music and pictures.

I received a free copy of this CD for review. It was the only form of "payment" I received. The views and opinions are my own.

Stay with Me Socks

I know every parent has been there. You get home after a day out with the kids and your little one is missing a sock. It happens to us all the time. Baby L loves to pull off his socks...mostly because he thinks they are a chew toy (Gross! Good thing he isn't walking yet). When I was contacted about Stay with Me socks I knew I had to try them.

Stay with Me Socks features a Velcro strap that fastens around the ankle to create a secure and comfortable fit for babies. The socks come in two different sizes: 0-3 months and 3-14 months. The Velcro strap on each pair can be fastened in the front for smaller babies and the back for older ones. This allows the socks to accommodate baby as he grows. Stay with Me Socks also feature a skid proof bottom for baby as he learns to stand and walk.

We received two pairs to try out on Baby L. So I put them on and strapped him in. I waited and watched as Baby L played with his feet. I think the green and white stripes really got his attention. His socks are mostly plain white so even if I lose a couple they still match another one. I have to say Baby L tugged and tugged and the socks didn't come off. Finally he gave up and just stuck his whole foot in his mouth. I'd like someone to invent something to prevent that!

We were really happy with Stay with Me Socks. They left me thinking "Why didn't I think of this?!" They are soft lightweight cotton socks. The straps also double as a loop to keep the socks together in the laundry. Here's another tip: I keep a pair in my diaper bag and loop the straps around the bag strap so I don't lose one.

Want your own pair of Stay with Me Socks? They hit Target stores this Fall for $4.50 and up. So grab yourself a few pairs.

I received this product free of charge in exchange for a review. It is the only form of "payment" I received. The review and opinions are my own.

So I couldn't pass up the chance to review the new My Little Pony: Twinkle Wish Adventure. This brand new DVD will be available on October 13, 2009 from Shout! Factory.
