Holiday Extravaganza - Wilton Review

I've been baking cakes and cookies for years. For as long as I can remember I've always used some kind of Wilton product during my baking and decorating process. It's hard not to. Wilton makes everything from cake pans to candy to sprinkles and everything in between. I was so excited when I had the opportunity to review Wilton's Giant Cupcake Pan.
This pan completely transforms your ordinary square cake into something truly special. J loves helping me bake and loves decorating even more. To get into the holiday spirit with the Giant Cupcake Pan we decided to forgo the traditional gingerbread house and make our own cupcake house. We had so much fun!

The pan was easy to use. It's non-stick which made it a snap to get the cake pieces out without them crumbling. I added a layer of buttercream frosting between the two pieces to stick them together. I let J choose how to decorate the cupcake house. I think more of the candy ended up in his mouth then on the cake. When we were done he was so excited to show daddy what he likes to call his "Candy Cake". I was worried about the cake being too thick and the edges drying out before the center was done. When we cut into the cake was every bite was moist.

Wilton is truly a one of a kind company. They have so many wonderful tips and ideas to help you decorate anything and everything. How cute are these Bear Silicone Baking Cups for your next batch of cupcakes?

If you need some cookie ideas for the upcoming holiday season, Wilton has some amazing decorating tips and ideas like this Classic Santa Hat and Cookie Tree and Candy Gifts.

I received this product free of charge for a review on my blog. I did not receive any other form of compensation. The views and opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

Holiday Extravaganza - Cook's Ham Review & Giveaway

We love ham in this house! It's the only meat I can get J to eat on a regular basis. We love it in sandwiches, omelets, and salads.

We had the opportunity to try a Cook's Ham and it was delicious. It was moist and tender. We got a 20 lb ham and after stuffing ourselves we still had so much leftover. J loves it by itself cut up in small pieces. It's so easy to feed him a nice lunch with the leftovers. Dear Hubby takes some to work and I love it as a snack with cheese and crackers.

Cook's Ham gives you great recipe ideas and new glazes to try with their delicious hams. Cook's has a variety of hams including; Bone-in and Boneless Hams, Ham Steaks, Spiral Sliced Hams and Corned Beef Brisket.

Want to try a Cook's Ham for yourself? One Oh My Baby reader will WIN their own free Cook's Ham (up to $30). I was able to buy our 20 lb ham with this same coupon. To receive your coupon for a free Cook's ham leave me a comment by December 18th. One random winner will have 48 hours to respond. U.S. addresses only please.

"The Accidental Husband" Movie Review

Sony Pictures just released the comedy, The Accidental Husband on DVD November 10th. This film stars Uma Thurman as Dr Emma Lloyd, a relationship expert and radio talk show host. Fire Fighter Patrick Sullivan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (you may remember him from Grey's Anatomy), seeks revenge on Dr Lloyd, after she advises his fiancee to break off their engagement. As revenge, Patrick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) forges a fake marriage license marrying him and Emma (Uma Thurman) who is already engaged to Richard (Colin Firth) in hopes to ruin her relationship as well.

Dear Hubby and I get don't get a lot of alone time so I was excited to receive this movie for review. We made plans 3 days in advance to put the kids to bed at a decent hour, have the chores done and computers off. It's not often I get to watch something that isn't on Disney Channel or Nick Jr these days. We popped some popcorn and sat ourselves down on the couch.

I don't want to go into too great of detail and risk giving too much of the movie away but here is my honest opinion. In the beginning, Emma was an uptight and proper "love doctor" and I felt Uma went a little overboard playing her character that she started to annoy me. She definitely loosened up as the movie went on and I grew to like her. There were a few scenes that seemed a little cliche. Patrick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) was like-able and you actually felt bad for the guy not only because his fiancee dumps him but also how he finds out. There were several laugh-out-loud funny scenes that helped bring the movie together.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. Dear Hubby did too. In fact, his exact words were "Decent movie. I didn't fall asleep once so that's a good sign". Words of a true movie critic. It was a nice comedy and cute date movie. Now that it's on DVD, you can enjoy it in the comforts of your own couch and spend some good quality time with a certain someone. Perfect stocking stuffer size for the upcoming holiday season too.

I received this movie free of charge for a review on my blog. The views and opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Welcome Back...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I stuffed myself with more then my share of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy (and everything else). We started the day with a walk for charity to work up a big appetite. Then we made our way to my husband's family for our first dinner and then again with my family for a second dinner. I now have a ton of leftovers that we will be eating throughout the weekend.

Anybody get any good Black Friday deals? With two little ones, it's just too hard to get out so early and fight the crowd. However, Dear Hubby WANTED to go to Toys R Us at midnight. That's right he WANTED to go. Completely his idea. He did get a few things on J's list so it was definitely worth the trip...even in the rainy 40 degrees. What a great daddy!

Christmas is in full swing at our house. I couldn't wait to get our holiday decorations up. I actually started a few days ago by putting up a few pieces here and there. I'm so excited for Christmas this year because at this time last year we were in the process of moving half way across the country. Needless to say Christmas wasn't the same hoop-la during that transition that it usually is so I have to more then make up for it this year. It also makes it a little sweeter that this will be Baby L's First Christmas. His "Baby's First Christmas" ornament is on the tree and his embroidered stocking is hung on the fireplace. I love this time of year.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hope you stuff yourselves with delicous food. And I hope everyone finds some really great deals on Friday :)

Holiday Extravaganza - Holey Donuts! Review & Giveaway, $150 Cash Contest and Extra Giveaway Entries

Holey Donuts! introduces Low Fat Cinnamon Bun Middles! Something new and exciting all for under 100 calories each.

Holey Donuts! sent me their new Low Fat Cinnamon Bun Middles, Jumbo Reduced Fat Cinnamon Buns and Reduced Fat Blueberry Vanilla Cinnamon Buns to review. The cinnamon buns were shipped frozen right to my door so we could store and enjoy them anytime. Even though they were frozen, they were easy to pull apart and heat one at a time. We tried one of each cinnamon bun. I zapped them in the microwave for a less then a minute each (microwave oven and times vary). They came out piping hot and smelled delicious. At first bite, there was no way I could tell they were previously frozen. They were soft and so moist. The Low Fat Cinnamon Bun Middles are the perfect size for J. He gobbled his up right away and asked for another one. The Blueberry Vanilla flavor was my favorite. I couldn't believe that all of these cinnamon buns are low fat. They were gooey and sweet and reminded me of the ones you buy in the mall. The only thing missing from these cinnamon buns is the extra fat and calories.

All of Holey Donuts! cinnamon buns are handmade. They can be warmed in the microwave like I did or thawed naturally.

Holiday Extravaganza - Brya's Baskets Review and Giveaway

Brya's Baskets was named by owner, Diane Shaner's grand-daughter. The company first made specialty gift baskets for friends, family and various charities. Diane chose not to use traditional food products to create her baskets but rather meaningful keepsakes for their recipients.

I was thrilled when I got the chance to review Brya's Baskets' Posie bouquet. When I opened the package and saw the bouquet I couldn't believe that it was made of baby clothes. It was so adorable! I didn't even want to take it apart. I received a receiving blanket, onesie, long sleeve tee, bib and two pairs of socks. Everything came beautifully wrapped in tissue cloth, cellophane and tied with ribbons. These Posie baby gift bouquets are constructed without the use of pins or glue. The baby items are rolled up to look like flowers. Then silk flowers were added throughout. Even J was impressed with the bouquet and said "Oh pretty, Mommy".

All of Brya's Baskets products are creative and unique. Check out their "Baby Smoothie" and "Baby Hoagie" gifts or the Block Baby Gift Planter. Don't forget to pamper Mommy with a specialty spa gift basket or Handmade scented bath salts.

Want to WIN your own bouquet? Diane has made this special bouquet (yellow flower bouquet on the right side) for one Oh My Baby reader. This bouquet includes 2 Newborn size light tan onesies, beanie hat, socks, scratch mittens and bib, with silk flowers.

Holiday Extravaganza - Amon Maternity Review and Giveaway

With both of my pregnancies, I remember a lot of discomfort, especially in the last trimester. I had different maternity clothes for different phases of my pregnancies because of my growing belly. I wish I had known about Amon Maternity then because it could have saved me some hassle.

Amon Maternity has products designed for extra comfort and support for expecting and new mothers. Their line includes:

Band - user-friendly alternative to a maternity belt
Brief - maternity underwear that provides pregnancy belly support
Skivvies - for the active pregnant woman, boy-short style
Bodyshaper -for after your baby is born

After having 2 kids, my body just isn't the same. Any mother knows that even if you lose the pounds, your clothes still fit differently. Amon Maternity sent me their Bodyshaper to try out after having Baby L earlier this year.

I was a little hesitant because at first site it reminded me of "Granny Panties" with an extra thick band. I was worried it was going to be too tight and squeeze me like a corset. When I tried on the Bodyshaper I had a completely different outlook. The breathable microfiber fabric was soft on my skin. It was stretchy and didn't squeeze too hard. Then the real test...sitting down. Would it get too tight? Would it help hide that little tummy pooch I get when I sit? The Bodyshaper felt a little snug when sitting but not to the point of being uncomfortable. It also helped to tuck in that wonderful tummy pooch that I like to thank my kids for giving me. Overall, it helped my pre-pregnancy clothes fit just a little bit better.

Can't wait and want to buy one now? All Oh My Baby Readers will get 10% off of their purchase by using coupon code "OHMYBABY10"

Want to WIN it? Amon Maternity is giving one lucky Oh My Baby reader a $50 gift certificate to use on their site. Leave your comment by December 16th. One random winner will be chosen and have 48 hours to respond.

Does your grocery store do this?

I LOVE Wegmans! If you're one of the unlucky people who doesn't have one near you, it is this amazing grocery store where you can buy absolutely anything! They even have a cafe area where you can sit down and eat a fresh crabcake, sub sandwich, sushi, pizza or pick and choose from an Asian and Indian buffet. This grocery store started in NY and I believe is only on the East Coast right now ( I feel bad for the rest of the country). I've always been a fan of this store because their prices are hard to beat.

A couple of days ago, Wegmans proved to me how fantastic they really are. There was a food recall on cantaloupes because of a possible salmonella contamination. There weren't any confirmed illnesses but there was the possibility. I bought one of these cantaloupes.

I've shopped in many different grocery stores over the years and whenever there has been a food recall it was always the same experience. I would hear about the recall on the news (or word of mouth, online etc) go into the store and there may or may not be a piece of paper taped to where the recalled food once was. I would have to think, did I buy that? Did I buy that during in the contamination timeframe? That was about the extent of notice I ever got.

Two days ago I had a missed call on my cellphone and a voicemail was left. It was from Wegmans telling me about the cantaloupe recall. They were informing me of what happened, that the cantaloupes were removed from their stores and how to go about getting my refund. They went through their computer system and because I swipe my Wegmans card at each shopping trip, they were able to track who purchased these cantaloupes, the timeframe and contacted each customer. I walked into Wegmans this morning and went to the customer service counter. They swiped my Wegmans card (to verify how many I purchased) and handed me my money back. It was that simple.

I have yet to hear about this recall on the news or any other outlet. I applaud Wegmans for not only announcing the recall but actually verifying and contacting each customer directly who made the purchase. I'm sure most grocery stores who have a shopping card is capable of this search option. They just don't use it to their advantage.

Holiday Extravaganza - Softlips Review and Giveaway

Prepare your pucker for the mistletoe with the new limited edition flavors of Softlips lip conditioners.

New in 2009! Softlips® Sugar & Spice
New in 2009! Softlips® Sugar Plum Berry
Softlips® Winter Mint
Softlips® Sugar Cookie

With the winter season and cooler air comes dry skin and chapped lips. Softlips lip conditioner contains soothing emolliants to help prevent dryness and chapping. As an added bonus each stick protects lips from the sun with SPF20.

I had the opportunity to try all 4 limited edition flavors. I was surprised to find that with each flavor, comes a complimentary Softlips favorite flavor, Vanilla or Cherry. I'm a bit of a lip junkie when it comes to lip moisturizers and conditioners. J shares in this crazy habit with me. His favorite flavor is the Winter Mint. The scents aren't overbearing. They don't taste strong and medicine-like when I pucker up to dear hubby. He's kind of turned into the lip authority since he is the one I kiss under the mistletoe each year (and everyday in between). So, he approves of Softlips. I would prefer if the sticks were a little wider to fit my lips better, but I guess that's more of a personal preference. The slender stick fits right into my pocket without being too bulky.

Softlips limited edition flavors would make the perfect stocking stuffer for your favorite pair of lips. Now through out the holiday/winter season, the limited addition flavors Sugar & Spice and Sugar Plum Berry will be available in Target and Winter Mint and Sugar Cookie will be available at Walgreens.

Holiday Extravaganza - Mia Mallows Review & Giveaway

Top off a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Roast them for s'mores. Just eat them by the handful.

I had so many choices for what to do when I received my box of Mia Mallows Gourmet Marshmallows to review. I don't know who was more excited when the box arrived...me or J. I opened it up and out came 10 delicious marshmallow flavors. I received the following; strawberry, raspberry, pina colada, lemon, coconut, pineapple, orange, vanilla, mango and praline with chopped pecans. Can you believe Mia Mallows actually has an additional 17 flavors to choose from? Yes, I'm still talking about MARSHMALLOWS!

The first thing I noticed when I saw the marshmallows was their size. Each piece is hand cut into whopping 1 1/2 inch cubes. That's bigger then the big ones you buy in the grocery store. Their different colors matched their flavor. J was instantly attracted to the strawberry because of it's pink color (it's his favorite flavor).

At first bite, you feel how soft and fluffy these marshmallows are. They were smooth and melted in my mouth. The flavors were spot on. The pina colada flavor was topped with real coconut for such an authentic taste. The praline with pecans had little bits of pecans throughout. We took the strawberry one and turned it into a s'more. It was like a chocolate covered strawberry. Delicious!

If Mia Mallows 27 marshmallow flavors isn't enough for you, check out their signature apple. Crisp Granny Smith Apple submerged in their handmade marshmallow fluff then rolled in rice krispie cereals and drenched in a bath of decadent dark chocolate and finally topped with ribbons of white chocolate. Are you drooling yet?

Holiday Extravaganza - Sprout Shell Review

With the cooler weather coming in I'm always putting a blanket over Baby L in his carseat as we're walking out the door. Atleast half a dozen times that same blanket either gets kicked off or parts of it drag on the dirty ground.

I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to try a Sprout Shell infant carrier cover. This stylish carrier cover helped fix the problems I was having with Baby L's blanket always falling off. The tent like enclosure helps to protect Baby L from the cold (and wind, rain and noise). The opening at the top fits the carseat handle so I can carry it without any obstruction. It also allows airflow for Baby L and lets me peek inside without bothering him if he's fallen asleep. The bottom is elastic that fits securely around the carseat so I never have to worry about it falling onto another dirty ground.

If you know me (or read this blog enough) you know I'm a bit of a germophob. I was excited to learn that not only is Sprout Shell a stylish infant carrier cover but it can also be used as a shopping cart and high chair cover. And to just add to it's many functions, Spout Shell can also be used as a nursing cover. That's 4 things in one! More importantly, that's 3 less things for me to carry around when we're out and about. I loved using Sprout Shell as a nursing cover. I've tried 3 different brands of nursing covers and always had the same issues. If the wind blew too hard or Baby L moved around too much the covers would shift and potentially expose me. The Sprout Shell surrounded my body so no matter how much wiggling Baby L did, Sprout Shell didn't shift.

With the holidays around the corner, Sprout Shell will make a great gift for any new mom or mom-to-be. Want to buy one? The generous folks at Sprout Shell are offering all Oh My Baby readers 15% off their purchase by using coupon code "ohbaby15". Happy Shopping!

Holiday Extravaganza - We Craft for You Review & Giveaway

Since having kids I try to capture every moment of their lives. It's so true, they grow up too fast and you just want them to stay little forever. Every year for Christmas, Dear Hubby's stocking stuffer is always a calendar filled with pictures of the kids. I use pictures from the past year so obviously when he puts the new calendar up in his office each January the pictures are a bit outdated. We Craft For You has a new product called Unique Photo Calendars that solves this problem.

Instead of seeing pictures from a year ago, We Craft For You uses current pictures. How is this possible you ask? Unique Photo Calendars are double sided bi-monthly calendars. They measure 8.5" x 11" and are printed in full color on 61 lb photo supreme matte paper. When you order a Unique Photo Calendar, We Craft For You will immediately get to work on the first two months of your calendar using the current pictures you send to them. Then you will receive an email every other month reminding you it's time to send them new pictures for the next 2 month calendar. What a great way to show off your current pictures when you hang your Unique Photo calendar up on your fridge or in your office.

The calendar I received was just too cute! The picture quality was rich and vibrant. The monthly designs were colorful and unique as each one had a different color scheme, font and design. These are definitely calendars I will keep and to be able to look back when my kids are older.

These adorable calendars sell for $60. That's only $5 a month. We Craft For You is having a holiday sale right now for $48 and if you order in the month of November you will even get free shipping.

We Craft For You creates customized yet affordable memory keepsakes such as video montages, photo books, story books and digital scrapbooks. They also sell a wide variety of invitations, save the dates, holiday cards, favors and more. Additionally, with the launch of their 'We Craft Cares' campaign, We Craft For You began donating a portion of each sale to various organizations and charities. To date, they have donated over $400 to various charities who support great causes including Pancreatic and Breast Cancer Research.

Lucky me, I received a variety of Whoops Bunny's paper products that included their Flip Flop Notebook, Ice Cream Bunny Patterned Note Cards, Pencil Set, 2010 Wall Planner, The Call List, and the Magnetic menu Planner and Shopping List.

All of the products I received are things that I use in everyday life. I think the magnetic meal planner and shopping list were my favorite. I've been trying to get more organized and with two kids in tow now I do my best to avoid any unnecessary shopping trips. I plan my meals for the week and fill in the meal planner. It goes on the fridge so dear hubby doesn't ask me everyday the dreaded "What's for dinner?" It also gives him a chance to make any requests or changes to a meal. So I made my shopping list for the coming the week using the magnetic shopping list. I love this list because it breaks up your food into categories like "Canned Goods", "Deli" and "Frozen Food". This made it easy to grab what I needed in each area of the store at one time instead of forgetting something and having to go back to the same place twice.

The Call List came in handy for us too. I use it to keep track of J's soccer team phone tree and our playgroup friends. It's so much easier to look at the hanging list instead of scrolling through my phone or opening up emails.

Not only are Whoops Bunny's products cute and colorful but they're eco-friendly. The phone list and calendar poster are tree-free. Yes, tree-free! They look and feel like real paper but are actually made of rock. I never knew you could even do that! Where possible, Whoops Bunny products are eco-friendly and those that can't be right now you can bet their packaging is recyclable or re-usable. Whoops Bunny paper products are even printed with vegetable based inks. Whoops Bunny is a member of 1% For The Planet and donates 1% of sales to environmental causes through this foundation.
