I love this time of year! The decorations and holiday cheer just put me in the best mood. With the holidays comes tasty treats, right? I participated in a blogger secret Santa swap (I'll have an official post on that later on) and I wanted to share with you one of my wonderful gifts. It was a book called S'mores Gourmet Treats for Every Occasion. I couldn't wait to try everything in this book. The first recipe I tried was Emma's Pound Cake Spectacular. How delicious does this look?

This isn't your ordinary s'more. It was amazing! I roasted the marshmallows on my gas stove ha! If you're a marshmallow lover like I am or need a stocking stuffer, this is perfect!

Holiday Extravaganza - Lunch Punch Review and Giveaway

I know I'm not the only one out there with a toddler who would rather do anything than eat. I've been looking around for ideas on how to make mealtime more fun. At Halloween, I made ghost pancakes, I make smiley faces out of vegetables at dinner, I'll even top something with a little extra whipped cream if it will help him eat more. This usually lasts through maybe 3-4 bites and then the excitement is over and he runs off.

We were thrilled when we received the Match & Munch and Critter Cutters to review. Like I've said before, J loves colorful things and these were no exception. They were bright green and orange. J's favorite color is green so of course he wanted to try those first with the Match & Munch set. This set includes 4 interactive puzzle pieces you can mix and match and then munch. The sandwich cutters were easy to use. My favorite part about them was that they cut off the crust. J hates crust and I'm always having to cut it off myself. Once I punched out the sandwich the crust was cut gone. J loved eating the puzzle pieces and thought it was funny to take bites and laugh that he had "broken" his puzzle piece. I'm not lying when I say he actually ate two sandwiches for lunch!

J had some friends over for a playdate and the Get Set Placemats were a hit while the kids ate lunch.

Holiday Extravaganza - Wilton Review

I've been baking cakes and cookies for years. For as long as I can remember I've always used some kind of Wilton product during my baking and decorating process. It's hard not to. Wilton makes everything from cake pans to candy to sprinkles and everything in between. I was so excited when I had the opportunity to review Wilton's Giant Cupcake Pan.
This pan completely transforms your ordinary square cake into something truly special. J loves helping me bake and loves decorating even more. To get into the holiday spirit with the Giant Cupcake Pan we decided to forgo the traditional gingerbread house and make our own cupcake house. We had so much fun!

The pan was easy to use. It's non-stick which made it a snap to get the cake pieces out without them crumbling. I added a layer of buttercream frosting between the two pieces to stick them together. I let J choose how to decorate the cupcake house. I think more of the candy ended up in his mouth then on the cake. When we were done he was so excited to show daddy what he likes to call his "Candy Cake". I was worried about the cake being too thick and the edges drying out before the center was done. When we cut into the cake was every bite was moist.

We tried one of each cinnamon bun. I zapped them in the microwave for a less then a minute each (microwave oven and times vary). They came out piping hot and smelled delicious. At first bite, there was no way I could tell they were previously frozen. They were soft and so moist. The Low Fat Cinnamon Bun Middles are the perfect size for J. He gobbled his up right away and asked for another one. The Blueberry Vanilla flavor was my favorite. I couldn't believe that all of these cinnamon buns are low fat. They were gooey and sweet and reminded me of the ones you buy in the mall. The only thing missing from these cinnamon buns is the extra fat and calories.

All of Holey Donuts! cinnamon buns are handmade. They can be warmed in the microwave like I did or thawed naturally.

Holiday Extravaganza - Brya's Baskets Review and Giveaway

I was a little hesitant because at first site it reminded me of "Granny Panties" with an extra thick band. I was worried it was going to be too tight and squeeze me like a corset. When I tried on the Bodyshaper I had a completely different outlook. The breathable microfiber fabric was soft on my skin. It was stretchy and didn't squeeze too hard. Then the real test...sitting down. Would it get too tight? Would it help hide that little tummy pooch I get when I sit? The Bodyshaper felt a little snug when sitting but not to the point of being uncomfortable. It also helped to tuck in that wonderful tummy pooch that I like to thank my kids for giving me. Overall, it helped my pre-pregnancy clothes fit just a little bit better.

Holiday Extravaganza - Mia Mallows Review & Giveaway

Top off a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Roast them for s'mores. Just eat them by the handful.

I had so many choices for what to do when I received my box of Mia Mallows Gourmet Marshmallows to review. I don't know who was more excited when the box arrived...me or J. I opened it up and out came 10 delicious marshmallow flavors. I received the following; strawberry, raspberry, pina colada, lemon, coconut, pineapple, orange, vanilla, mango and praline with chopped pecans. Can you believe Mia Mallows actually has an additional 17 flavors to choose from? Yes, I'm still talking about MARSHMALLOWS!

The first thing I noticed when I saw the marshmallows was their size. Each piece is hand cut into whopping 1 1/2 inch cubes. That's bigger then the big ones you buy in the grocery store. Their different colors matched their flavor. J was instantly attracted to the strawberry because of it's pink color (it's his favorite flavor).

At first bite, you feel how soft and fluffy these marshmallows are. They were smooth and melted in my mouth. The flavors were spot on. The pina colada flavor was topped with real coconut for such an authentic taste. The praline with pecans had little bits of pecans throughout. We took the strawberry one and turned it into a s'more. It was like a chocolate covered strawberry. Delicious!

If Mia Mallows 27 marshmallow flavors isn't enough for you, check out their signature apple. Crisp Granny Smith Apple submerged in their handmade marshmallow fluff then rolled in rice krispie cereals and drenched in a bath of decadent dark chocolate and finally topped with ribbons of white chocolate. Holiday Extravaganza - Sprout Shell Review

With the cooler weather coming in I'm always putting a blanket over Baby L in his carseat as we're walking out the door. Atleast half a dozen times that same blanket either gets kicked off or parts of it drag on the dirty ground.

I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to try a Sprout Shell infant carrier cover. This stylish carrier cover helped fix the problems I was having with Baby L's blanket always falling off. The tent like enclosure helps to protect Baby L from the cold (and wind, rain and noise). The opening at the top fits the carseat handle so I can carry it without any obstruction.
