Monster High GIVEAWAY

Sakar and Mattel have teamed up to create Fashion Walkie Talkies. Monster High Walkie Talkies are part of an exciting new line of children's tech toys that was recently announced at the Consumer Electronics Show this past January.

Walkie Talkies keep my kids busy for hours! I loved that the Monster High Walkie Talkies come with an ear plug so I don't have to listen to the conversations all over the house. They have a light up antenna allowing the kids to use them at night (even when they should be sleeping!)There's even a mirror on the back so you can see any one behind you. The frequency reached all over our house, upstairs and down, no problem. The walkie talkies weren't made of the sturdiest of materials because they're a toy. But I was felt better knowing they came with a 1 year manufacturing warranty.

You can purchase Monster High Walkie Talkies at Toys R Us and retails for $19.99

Want to WIN your own set of Monster High Walkie Talkies?? One Oh My Baby reader will WIN their own set. Leave your comment by 11:59pm EST on July 12th. Winner will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be chosen. Good Luck!!

L loves all things soft and fuzzy so when I had the opportunity to review a Precious Moments crib toy, I knew he would be thrilled. We received the stuffed giraffe and I can't tell you how excited L was as soon as he saw it. He knew it was for him and came running before I could cut the tags off. Obviously the stuffed crib toy was soft and fuzzy but what I loved most was that nothing could come apart. The toy is completely sewn together with embroidered eyes and features. There is no worry of an eye or nose popping off and L will putting it in his mouth. L loves his new stuffed animal and snuggles with it all the time.

Kung Zhu pets have two battling groups, Special Forces and Ninja Warriors. All Kung Zhu hamsters are sent through training ground playsets. Once training is completed, your Kung Zhu pet will actually go through a personality transformation as they become fighting ninjas and warriors.

J loved Zhu Zhu Pets. Who didn't? They were the hottest toy of the Christmas season last year. When J started seeing the commercials for Kung Zhu, he immediately started asking for them. So I was obviously thrilled when I was asked if I wanted to review them.

J loved all the different training playsets. His favorite was the battle arena. He spent hours battling the Kung Zhu pets.

Blast Pad Review

Growing Tree Toys has a variety of education toys for boys and girls of all ages. They were generous enough to send me their Blast Pad for review.

Description

What’s that flying through the air? It’s a bird – no it’s a plane – no it’s a Booster Pack Missile flying with the Blast Pad from Marky Sparky! Launch missiles high into the sky from the Blast Pad by simply acting like a frog and hopping onto the launch pad – your jump forces air through the launch tube and sends a Booster Pack Missile flying. The flex launch tube of the Blast Pad extends almost 3 feet, points safely away from children, and only launches in the vertical position. Start blasting away with the one-of-a-kind Blast Pad from Marky Sparky! Includes 3 missiles

After weeks of frigid temps and lots of snow we were finally able to get outside one afternoon. J was so excited to finally be able to open the Blast Pad. The missiles are foam tipped and I really liked that all of the pieces can be stored together. I don't have 3 missiles laying around or getting lost. J could get the missiles on the tube easily by himself. After jumping on the launch pad, we were all surprised by how high the missiles actually went. I'm embarrassed to say that Dear Hubby and I ended up in a contest to see who could get their missiles the highest while J would run after them. I felt good in knowing that the missiles can only be shot vertically into the air making it safer for kids. If the tube is bent, the missiles just pop off. I know this because Dear Hubby tried to aim one at me...nice influence huh?

Want to buy a Blast Pad for yourself? They retail for $27.95 and can be purchased at Growing Tree Toys.

Holiday Extravaganza - Strider Running Bike Review & Giveaway

Welcome to the first day of Oh My Baby's Holiday Extravaganza! To kick off this fun event my first review and giveaway is for a Strider Running Bike. If you haven't heard of this bike before I'm sure you'll want one by the end of this post. This has got to be one of my favorite things I've had the pleasure to review. Not only because it's such a great product but because J truly loves this bike.

Here's a little info straight from Strider to explain what makes their bikes so special

"Tricycles tip over, scrape ankles, and are difficult to pedal. Bicycles with training wheels are tall, heavy, unstable and downright scary for young riders. Both have the potential to cause painful injuries and fear.

Not true with the Strider™.

The Strider™ running bike is free from any cables, chains, sprockets, pedals or protrusions that can harm your child.

And the Strider™ is steady, stable and safe. At the first feeling of instability, your child will instinctively place both feet securely on the ground. So there are no "tricycle tip-overs" or "training-wheel wobbles" that stir-up a fear, hesitancy, or dislike of bike riding."

I was lucky enough to get a chance to review this bike. When the box arrived J went nuts! The picture of the bike is on the box so he knew exactly what it was. The Strider bike was so easy to put together I didn't have to wait for hubby to get home to do it. And the best part was that the Strider bike came with its own wrench so I didn't have to dig through hubby's toolbox and guess what would fit. I seriously put this thing together in a matter of minutes. The bike is so light, weighting a mere 7 lbs. J can pick it up himself.

So once the Strider bike was put together I just had to adjust the seat for J. He's tall for his age (90th percentile, thanks daddy!) so being able to adjust the seat to his correct height was pretty important. J was hovering over me the whole time so once the bike was together he jumped right on.

Like with anything new, J was a little wobbly at first. He's used to riding tricycles and his ride-on toys that all have 4 wheels. My husband was a skeptic, "A bike with no pedals? What is that going to teach him?" Well it taught him a lot. Within the first couple of days J was going several feet at a time with his feet up and balancing himself. Next thing I knew he wanted to go down the small hills in our neighborhood to be able to ride longer. He was so proud of himself and knew he was doing a good job. The skeptic husband turned into a Strider lover too.

While outside, I had a neighbor I didn't know stop and tell me how impressed she was watching J riding this bike because he was so young and did it without training wheels. I can't begin to tell you how much J loves this bike. I'm excited to know that when Baby L gets big enough he'll have hours of fun on this bike too.

Want to WIN one? The generous people at Strider are offering one Oh My Baby reader their very own Orange Strider Running Bike. Leave your comment by December 10th. One random winner will chosen and have 48 hours to respond.

Zhu Zhu Pets

Life has been a little crazy these days. J is at the stage where he wants everything he sees on TV. We've even tried saying that if he's good Santa will bring it for him at Christmas time. His response "No, daddy will it buy it for me from the toy store." So you can only imagine how thrilled I was when he started asking for more pets (please note the sarcasm in my tone).

I love animals. We have 2 dogs. But let's be realistic, one more pet means one more thing to add to my to-do list. One more pet really means a lot more clean up. Kind of like when baby L was born and he added about 4 more loads of laundry per week. OK enough whining.

When I was contacted about trying out the new Zhu Zhu Pets I was excited because it was a great answer for J. It was the pet he wanted without the mess for me to clean up.

Meet the gang - Mr. Squiggles, Num Nums, Chunk, and Pipsqueak. Each with their own unique personalities and whimsical sounds.

Loving Mode:
Pet them, love them, hear them squeak and chatter

Explore Mode:
Let them scoot, scamper, bump & boogie across the floor or through their Hamster Habitat

These adorable animals made J laugh. They run around the house forward and backward while making different sounds including mooing like a cow ha! J put the whole set together and just let the Zhu Zhu Pets go. They ran around the different rooms and if they went into a corner they were able to turn themselves around and go out again. J's favorite pieces were the car and surfboard for Chunk. He was a little hesitant but finally shared Zhu Zhu Pets with some friends. This was a great interactive toy for the kids.

I will say they don't just shut off automatically when you're done playing. They actually keep going for a quiet a while. I remember one night watching tv and hearing some squeaking long after J had gone to bed. Don't worry though they do eventually turn themselves off.

Zhu Zhu Pets are in stores now! They're available at Toys R Us, Amazon and Target to name just a few. Grab your pet now before they're gone!
