A Tasty Trick for April Fool's Day
Disney FamilyFun Magazine has a ton of great ideas to help you pull off some fun and tasty pranks on April 1st, known better as April Fool's Day.
Fakin' and Eggs
Ingredients
FOR THE EGGS:
· 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips
· 12 yellow M&MS
FOR THE FAKIN':
· 1 square caramel
· 1 Tootsie Roll Midgee
Instructions
1. For the eggs: Melt the white chocolate chips according to the package directions. Transfer the melted chocolate to a ziplock bag and snip off a corner.
2. Squeeze nickel-size portions of the chocolate onto a sheet of waxed paper, then gently press a yellow M&M, letter side down, into the center of each. Let the candies cool. Makes 12 eggs.
3. For the fakin': Remove the wrapping from a square caramel and a Tootsie Roll Midgee. Microwave the candies for 4 seconds to make them soft. Use your thumb and forefinger to slightly flatten each candy piece, then press them together.
4. Halve the candy, then stack and press the pieces into alternating layers.
5. Slice a 1/4-inch-wide piece from the stack. Pinch and stretch the piece lengthwise into a flat bacon strip, then cut it in half. Add ripples to each half by gently bending the edges. Makes 3 strips (6 pieces).

Baby's First Phone Call Giveaway - 4 Winners!
Whether you're having your first child or fifth, things can be a little hectic and crazy, especially in the first few hours after delivery. With both of my kids, I remember just wanting to hold, snuggle and learn to feed my newborn babies. The last thing I wanted to do was get on phone and have to call 25 different people to announce their birth. Dear Hubby was in charge of the phone calls and he wasn't too thrilled about calling some of my friends that he didn't know very well. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a service that could make all of those phone calls for you? Then all of you would be able to enjoy the time with your newborn baby together.
Baby's First Phone Call is a new service aimed at expectant parents. Baby's First Phone Call is an automated call tree that allows new parents to notify friends and family of the arrival of their bundle of joy without the hassle of making dozens of individual phone calls, or leaving some friends and family to find out second- or third-hand.
Before the baby is born, parents set up their account and enter friends and family's names and numbers. After baby is born, the new parents make a single call recording a personal message with their big news and any information they would like to share such as hospital, room number, and baby's length and weight.
Baby's First Phone Call places calls to each of the phone numbers in the account. If the person answers the phone they hear the happy message. If they don't answer, the message is left on their voicemail or answering machine. In either case, there is an option for them to leave a return message that the new parents can pick up at their convenience.
How easy is that??
There are several call packages to choose from to accommodate the number of phone calls you would like to make. Here's some great news, FOUR (yes 4!) Oh My Baby readers will WIN a $50 gift certificate to Baby's First Phone Call. $50 will allow you to notify an unlimited number of friends of family members. I don't think it could get better then that.
At this time the 800-number is only available in the US and that it will only make calls to US area codes. It is expected that, as the service matures, North American capabilities will be added, possibly as soon as during 2010

Duncan Hines Review & Giveaway
St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner! Bring a bit-o-luck to the kitchen this year with some easy and tasty dessert ideas from Duncan Hines.
CLOVER PATCH BROWNIES
Bring a bit-o-luck to the kitchen by creating these shamrock-covered Clover Patch Brownies using our Duncan Hines Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix.
Ingredients:
• 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Family Style Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix
• 1 pkg pre-made marzipan or fondant
• green food coloring
• green toothpicks
Baking Instructions:
1. Bake brownies according to instructions on box. Remove from oven and let cool. Cut brownies into squares.
2. Meanwhile, knead green food coloring into marzipan or fondant until desired shade of green is achieved.
3. Form small (1-inch) 3-leaf and 4-leaf clover shapes out of fondant or marzipan. Be realistic and make a lot more 3-leaf clovers than 4-leaf clovers.
4. Stick clover shapes on top of green toothpicks.
5. Insert little bunches of clovers onto each brownie.
LEPRECHAUN KEY LIME CAKE
Try your luck with our cool, creamy, refreshing Leprechaun Key Lime Cake. There's a splash of lemon-lime in every bite thanks to Duncan Hines Lemon Supreme Cake Mix, lemon pudding, lime slices and Key lime juice.
Ingredients:
Cake:
• 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Lemon Supreme Cake Mix
• 1 (3.4 oz) pkg lemon instant pudding and pie filling
• 4 large eggs
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup water
• 1/4 cup Key lime juice
Glaze:
• 2 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1/3 cup Key lime juice
• 2 tbsp water
• 2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
Garnish:
• additional confectioners' sugar, lime slices and fresh strawberry slices
Baking Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 10-inch Bundt or tube pan.
2. For cake, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, oil, 3/4 cup water and 1/4 cup Key lime juice in large bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until moistened. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes.
3. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 25 minutes. Remove cake from pan onto cooling rack. Return cake to pan. Poke holes in top of warm cake with toothpick or long-tined fork.
4. For glaze, combine 2 cups confectioner's sugar, 1/3 cup Key lime juice, 2 tablespoons water and melted butter in medium bowl. Pour slowly over top of warm cake. Cool completely. Invert onto serving plate. Dust with additional confectioner's sugar. Garnish with lime slices and strawberry slices, if desired
I received a box of a Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Lemon Supreme Cake Mix and Duncan Hines® Family Style Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix to try these recipes for myself. The brownies were chewy and gooey, just the way we like them. The Key Lime Cake was delicious! The cake was so moist and just melted in your mouth. The glaze is a great alternative to the extra sweet frosting that covers most cakes. I have to admit though, I had a hard time finding key limes at my grocery store so I used regular limes. I'm not quiet sure if the two limes have a distinctly different flavors but it was delicious all the same. Both desserts were easy to prepare and are a nice change from just following the box directions. They were a hit in this house!

Loooong Overdue Winner...
So sorry this is so late! We have now entered what I like to call Birthday Season. Starting February 25 through April 5 we celebrate both kids, dear hubby, his father, my sister in law and 7 friends birthdays. J loves Curious George. He received his first Curious George book for his 2nd birthday and he has loved George ever since. When our copy of Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey arrived, J was thrilled. He recognized George right away and couldn't wait to watch it. Here we are 8 viewings later and he still wants to watch it again. He loves that most of the trip takes place on a train and is constantly calling me to watch the parts that make him laugh out loud.
