Zhu Zhu Pets

Life has been a little crazy these days. J is at the stage where he wants everything he sees on TV. We've even tried saying that if he's good Santa will bring it for him at Christmas time. His response "No, daddy will it buy it for me from the toy store." So you can only imagine how thrilled I was when he started asking for more pets (please note the sarcasm in my tone).

I love animals. We have 2 dogs. But let's be realistic, one more pet means one more thing to add to my to-do list. One more pet really means a lot more clean up. Kind of like when baby L was born and he added about 4 more loads of laundry per week. OK enough whining.

When I was contacted about trying out the new Zhu Zhu Pets I was excited because it was a great answer for J. It was the pet he wanted without the mess for me to clean up.

Meet the gang - Mr. Squiggles, Num Nums, Chunk, and Pipsqueak. Each with their own unique personalities and whimsical sounds.

These adorable animals made J laugh. They run around the house forward and backward while making different sounds including mooing like a cow ha! J put the whole set together and just let the Zhu Zhu Pets go. They ran around the different rooms and if they went into a corner they were able to turn themselves around and go out again. J's favorite pieces were the car and surfboard for Chunk. He was a little hesitant but finally shared Zhu Zhu Pets with some friends. This was a great interactive toy for the kids.

I will say they don't just shut off automatically when you're done playing. They actually keep going for a quiet a while. I remember one night watching tv and hearing some squeaking long after J had gone to bed. Don't worry though they do eventually turn themselves off.

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters Review and Giveaway

Nature Valley is "re-shaping" snack time. I grew up on Nature Valley granola bars in my lunches so I was excited to try their new Granola Nut Clusters. The Nut Clusters are bite sized pieces of 100% natural ingredients that include select roasted nuts, whole grain oats and a touch of honey. There are 4 varieties, Honey Roasted Peanut, Cashew, Nut Lovers and Roasted Almonds all in resealable bags. I received this fabulous "snack pack" prize pack from MyBlogSpark that included the four varieties of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters (This picture only shows 3 varieties because hubby opened and finished the cashew pack before I could take a picture) a sling backpack, stainless steel water bottle, flashlight and binoculars.

I love honey roasted peanuts so needless to say that was my favorite of the four. The bite sized pieces made it easy to grab a handful as I was running out the door to take J to preschool. Because of their size, I didn't have to worry about crumbs in the car since you can just pop one in your mouth. We liked how each cluster was full of nuts but they weren't overpowering. You could still taste the granola and the touch of honey. It was a great combination of salty and sweet in one bite.

"Make Time for Change"

Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner have teamed up for the new "Make Time For CHANGE" campaign. This wonderful campaign is supporting Save the Children. This wonderful charity is dedicated to making a difference for the smallest and most vulnerable Americans - children.

As a mother of two, I know things can get hectic and before you know it the day is over. Between preschool, playdates, house cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking dinner and paying bills a day can seem like minutes. The CHANGE campaign is asking everyone to take a pledge to make time for children. When we change our clocks on November 1st, use that extra hour to spend time with a child. I've never met a person who said "my mom and dad spent too much time with me when I was young."

Fisher-Price® TRIO™ Review and Giveaway

If you've ever been toy shopping I'm sure you've seen the name Fisher-Price a time or two. I know my house is busting at the seams with many Fisher-Price toys. That's why when I was asked to try out their new TRIO™ I jumped at the chance.

I received the Basic Building System for J to try out. He loves this toy! He's always loved stacking and building with his blocks so I knew this would be a hit. There are 100 pieces of blocks, sticks, panels and even a little figure that all go into a handy storage container for easy clean up. The lid of the storage container also acts as a building base for your child's creations. What we really like about these blocks is that they snap together. This helps keep J's creations together when he accidentally knocks them over. J is at the younger end of the age group for this toy so in the beginning he had a little trouble snapping the pieces together and taking them apart. Don't feel bad for him though because he caught on really quick and now there's no stopping him.

Mousse Temptations by JELLO

Hitting your store shelves nationwide this month is new Mousse Temptations by JELLO. We all know and love the many products JELLO has to offer so it's an easy choice to treat yourself to their newest decadent creation. Mousse Temptations by JELLO comes in three delicious flavors: Caramel Crème, Dark Chocolate Decadence and Chocolate Indulgence.

Lucky me, I got to try all 3! Mousse Temptations are light and airy making them easy to want to eat more then one. Good thing they're sugar-free and only 60 calories each! When I opened my first container, I have to admit it didn't look too appetizing. It looked a little sponge-like so I was a bit hesitant. Boy am I glad I didn't judge this book by it's cover. The Chocolate Indulgence tastes like JELLO's well known chocolate pudding. It didn't taste sugar-free to me at all. I usually don't like sugar-free products because of that bitter after-taste. I think it's from the aspartame and it just screams "diet" to me. I didn't taste any of that here. Next, I tried the Caramel Crème. Maybe I'm a little bias but I love all things caramel. I mean love. So needless to say I loved this one as well. It really tasted like I was eating a piece of caramel that was melting in my mouth. Delicious!

It's a Bra, It's a Tank, It's an Undershirt! It's also a Giveaway!

If you're a nursing mother I know you will love the nursing tanks from Glamourmom! I love to layer my shirts but since I've been nursing it can get pretty difficult getting through so many layers at feeding time.

I was thrilled to try out a Glamourmom® Nursing Bra Long Top in white. I'm practical and knew I could get a lot of wear out of white. If you aren't as boring as I am, then you can try this tank in chocolate, sage, burgundy or black and grey stripe to name just a few. This tank was a perfect fit. I wore it under a v-neck shirt so the top peeked out. Since this is a nursing tank I didn't have to wear an additional nursing bra underneath. I know most of us have tried those tanks with a "built in bra". Let's be honest they're terrible. They never have enough support and are a pain to get on and off. Glamourmom's nursing tanks were totally different. They fit like one of my own nursing bras and gave me the extra support I need since I'm a little more umm...well endowed thanks to my milk. The straps have the traditional nursing bra hook closures that make it easy to open and close. I did notice they actually go the opposite direction of the bras I have so I was fidgeting a bit in the beginning. There is also a mesh liner to hold your nursing pads.

Glamourmom has a variety of tank styles and colors. The nursing bra tank with lace trim is too cute! There is even a nursing nightgown and tankini.

I think I lucked out with J. He was never that baby who put everything into his mouth. I used to laugh at my friend's kids who ate leaves, mulch, and basically anything that would fit, all while thinking to myself "oh thank goodness J never does that".
