JELL-O Temptations - At Home Kits

I recently told you about Temptations by JELL-O cups and now you can make them at home. These no bake desserts can be whipped up in minutes, literally! You can choose from 3 delicious flavors

Each mix includes two packets, one you mix with milk to create a creamy sweet filling and another for a rich smooth topping. Each mix has only 150 calories or less per serving.


The Boston Creme Pie was my favorite. I'm already a fan of the cake version and this dessert did not disappoint. The entire dessert took 30 mins and that included refrigeration time. I whisked in my milk, poured the mix into a dish and topped it with the chocolate packet. I was a little worried the topping was going to be thin and runny but after a little bit of time in the fridge it formed a firm shell topping. The filling was smooth and creamy and the chocolate shell melted in my mouth. It was delicious and tasted so much like a regular Boston Creme Pie cake minus most of the calories but none of the flavor.

We were lucky enough to receive samples of each of the new JELLO-O TEMPTATIONS flavors. I have to say I was quiet impressed. The flavors were light and tasty. The real pie filling on the Raspberry and Strawberry Cheesecake flavors were rich and delicious. The Lemon Meringue was definitely my favorite. It's one of my favorite pies and the flavors were spot on. The Meringue on top was light and fluffy. Do I even have to say the boys loved all the chocolate flavors. I felt better letting them eat away knowing each cup was only 150 calories or less.

Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookie Review

Consider mixing-up your traditional holiday cookie batch this year with a recipe using Pringles crisps. Below is an original recipe for Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookies, created by professional Chef Kyle Shadix. This sandwich cookie combines the savory crunch of Pringles Original Potato crisps with a sweet and zesty jam to create a winning substitute for the boring ginger cookie

Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookies by Chef Kyle Shadix

Yield: 2 dozen sandwich cookies

1 can Pringle's "The Original"

1 cup all-purpose flour

· 1 teaspoon baking soda

· 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

· 1 teaspoon allspice

· 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

· 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

· 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed

· 1 egg

· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

· 1 cup fruit preserves, raspberry or mixed berry

· 1/3 cup crystallized ginger, finely chopped



Directions

1. Preheat the oven at to 350 degrees and place Pringles, flour, baking soda, and spices in a food processor, and puree until the consistency of corn meal; set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until slightly fluffy.

3. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix for 30 seconds.

4. Pour the Pringles spice mixture into the bowl and mix for 1 minute; place dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

5. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets, and bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

6. In a small bowl, combine fruit preserves and ginger (if desired, ginger is optional); spread 1 teaspoon onto a cookie, and top with another cookie. Instead of crystallized ginger can swap out 2 teaspoons of powdered ginger to the jam.

I had the chance to review these Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookies and I have to say I was very surprised...in a good way. I knew I already loved Pringles and the thought of them in a cookie was pretty strange but I figured why not? They were moist and soft yet had a little crunch from the Pringles. The jam gave it the perfect amount of sweetness. I knew Dear Hubby wouldn't try them if I told him they were made of chips so I offered him some without telling him the surprise ingredient. He liked them and said they reminded him of the holidays because of the spice flavor.

My kids were so excited when our review prize pack arrived. It included a 24-piece counting-themed floor puzzle, fun learn-to-count flashcards, a sippy cup, a portable snack container and a box each of Original Kix and Honey Kix cereal. The boys were already fans of Kix cereal but had not tried the Honey Kix Cereal before. They love it! They both like it as a snack without milk too. J was thrilled with the floor puzzle as well. I made them for lunch one day and wanted to see if J would notice a difference in taste. I always try new food before feeding it to the kids. I took a bite and I have to admit, I like these whole grain nuggets better than the original. They were juicy and had a great flavor. We are strictly white meat chicken eaters and these were truly white meat. There weren't any weird dark spots in any of the nuggets. Then the real test, the boys. I gave them each several to eat. They both gobbled them down without any hesitation. J even came back asking for more.

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese is a staple in our house. My kids love it and I love the convenience. When asked if I wanted to review the new Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner Cheddar Explosion, I knew it wouldn't be hard to convince the kids to try them.

JELL-O Review

Growing up, I loved JELL-O. I used to love going to the grocery store and staring at the isle full of different gelatin flavors. Then I discovered JELL-O gelatin jigglers, I mean could snack time get any cooler?! The only thing I hated was the waiting. It took hours for the JELL-O to set in the fridge. It was like waiting for water to boil...only longer.

I personally loved the Berry Blue gelatin. L tried JELL-O for the first time and just grunted for more. I don't think he has a favorite yet, he just loved them all.

Holiday Extravaganza - Lunch Punch Review and Giveaway

I know I'm not the only one out there with a toddler who would rather do anything than eat. I've been looking around for ideas on how to make mealtime more fun. At Halloween, I made ghost pancakes, I make smiley faces out of vegetables at dinner, I'll even top something with a little extra whipped cream if it will help him eat more. The sandwich cutters were easy to use. My favorite part about them was that they cut off the crust. J hates crust and I'm always having to cut it off myself. Once I punched out the sandwich the crust was cut gone. J loved eating the puzzle pieces and thought it was funny to take bites and laugh that he had "broken" his puzzle piece. I'm not lying when I say he actually ate two sandwiches for lunch!

At first bite, there was no way I could tell they were previously frozen. They were soft and so moist. The Low Fat Cinnamon Bun Middles are the perfect size for J. He gobbled his up right away and asked for another one. The Blueberry Vanilla flavor was my favorite. I couldn't believe that all of these cinnamon buns are low fat. They were gooey and sweet and reminded me of the ones you buy in the mall. The only thing missing from these cinnamon buns is the extra fat and calories.

Holiday Extravaganza - Mia Mallows Review & Giveaway

Top off a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Roast them for s'mores. Just eat them by the handful.

I had so many choices for what to do when I received my box of Mia Mallows Gourmet Marshmallows to review. I don't know who was more excited when the box arrived...me or J. I opened it up and out came 10 delicious marshmallow flavors. I received the following; strawberry, raspberry, pina colada, lemon, coconut, pineapple, orange, vanilla, mango and praline with chopped pecans. Can you believe Mia Mallows actually has an additional 17 flavors to choose from? Yes, I'm still talking about MARSHMALLOWS!

The first thing I noticed when I saw the marshmallows was their size. Each piece is hand cut into whopping 1 1/2 inch cubes. That's bigger then the big ones you buy in the grocery store. Their different colors matched their flavor. J was instantly attracted to the strawberry because of it's pink color (it's his favorite flavor).

At first bite, you feel how soft and fluffy these marshmallows are. They were smooth and melted in my mouth. The flavors were spot on. The pina colada flavor was topped with real coconut for such an authentic taste. The praline with pecans had little bits of pecans throughout. We took the strawberry one and turned it into a s'more. It was like a chocolate covered strawberry. Delicious!

Crisp Granny Smith Apple submerged in their handmade marshmallow fluff then rolled in rice krispie cereals and drenched in a bath of decadent dark chocolate and finally topped with ribbons of white chocolate. A day of eating...

Duncan Hines introduced two new flavors of 100% whole grain muffins, Triple Chocolate Chunk and Apple Cinnamon. Before you start moaning and groaning "Oh 100% whole grain. How good could it be?" Trust me they're good. I tried both flavors and ...yum!

With the cooler weather coming in I've been in an apple cinnamon mood lately so that was the first flavor I made. The muffins were moist and filling and topped off with oats. My favorite part was the cinnamon apples you swirled in before baking. I'm not talking about applesauce or apple flavor. They were actual apple pieces. Honestly, I thought the muffins were delicious by themselves without the oats on top. The next morning I made the Triple Chocolate Chunk and O-M-G! They tasted the like the chocolate cupcakes I had made last week, minus the frosting of course. Dear hubby thought they tasted like brownies. They are filled with chocolate chunks so you are sure to get a couple pieces in each bite. These new muffins are 100% whole grain, no trans fat and a good source of fiber.


Duncan Hines took care of breakfast so Mrs. Paul's and Van de Kamp's took care of lunch. They both make fish sticks made out of 100% fish fillets. I'm not a big seafood eater. Dear Hubby loves it and will eat it any chance he gets. I took a bite of each one to try. Their outsides were crunchy and their insides flaky. They didn't have the "fishy" taste I was expecting from a frozen fish. They were easy and quick to make when J was yelling that he was hungry. This was his first time eating fish sticks and I have to say I was surprised because he ate them all.

J loved YoBaby yogurts when he was younger. He had one every morning for breakfast. I was excited when Baby L was old enough to eat them because I knew he would love them just as much.

YoBaby has come out with a new line of products: YoBaby Meals. YoBaby Meals offer a unique 3-in-1 combination of protein-packed yogurt + fruit + veggie purée in one cup. They come in 3 delicious flavors: Pear & Green Bean, Peach & Squash, Apple & Sweet Potato. YoBaby is still all natural and certified organic, made with milk from cows fed organic feed and not treated with antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.

At first thought, the sound of pears, green beans and yogurt together wouldn't be my first combination choice but I have to say I was surprised. I always take a little taste of everything I feed my kids (sometimes it's the only time I get to eat). The fruit and veggie puree is at the bottom of the cup and you mix it together with the smooth yogurt. The Peach & Squash was Baby L's favorite flavor. Those were two of his favorite foods to begin with so I think the yogurt just added to the tasty goodness. He gobbled up the whole thing in one sitting.

Funky Monkey Snacks Review and Giveaway

Bananamon and Jivealime! Those are just some of the flavors by Funky Monkey Snacks...and funky they are. In a good way of course!

I have to admit that at first site they looked pretty funky, especially the Purple Funk (which turned out to be my favorite of the 4). I loved the fact that when you looked on the back for the ingredients it would say (for example the Jivealime) "Freeze Dried Organic Pineapple and Lime Juice". That's it! Nothing else is added. No big words about weird things you don't know. It's all natural. The Jivealime actually reminded me of a pina colada with a hint of lime...that crunched. It was a little strange at first to get used to the crunch. By freeze drying the fruit, it helps to maintain nearly all of the flavor and nutrients found in fresh fruit. J loved the apple and papaya pieces from the Canaval Mix. I loved knowing that with every ounce he ate, he was getting 3 servings of real fruit.
