Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People reminds us that tough times won't last, but tough people will. Tough People is all about overcoming adversity, pulling together, making do with less, facing challenges, and finding new joys in a simpler life. This new collection shares tales of people who have been laid off, lost their homes, and endured wrenching life changes, but discovered the underlying gifts in their new situations. More time at home with family, creative "staycations," more satisfying job opportunities, and renewed gratitude for health and life are just a few of the silver linings these survivors have learned to cherish. It also includes 10 bonus stories of faith.

I clip coupons out of my sunday paper now. I actually get excited when I see my grocery receipt and how much I have saved.

I actually just don't go out randomly shopping anymore. I've cut down my shopping and it saves alot!

well, I am all about looking for deals and coupons online now!
:)

we make absolutely everything we can as oppose to buying it.
Not an entry; just a note that we've posted about this at Winning Readings:

We shop thrift stores and garage sales for most of my kids clothes and we only use cash.
In this economy, I use coupons
a-l-l the time.

Definitely going out to eat less, making things at home and looking out for freebies like this!

Hmm...just still careful about how I spend...and trying to cook more from scratch.

I don't subscribe to cable on TV as that has been very expensive. I can get things online whenever I want for free or a good substitute tv item on tv viewers online.

I'm trying to clip coupons and cook more at home instead of eating out.
I refuse to charge things. If I can't afford to pay cash, I don't need it.

Ok, this is ironic because we have been blessed with more money in the past year than we normally have. I always have lived very frugally, but have found myself with a little more spending money lately. Some things I still do: stock on great deals, buy in season, re-use everything, and avoid temptations (i.e. no window shopping).

In today's economy I make my own baby wipes sometimes (really easy and cheap and actually better for baby's bottom). I also clip coupons and for long distances really decide if it's necessary to go there (we try to preserve gas)! We also eat out way less!

Eating out less and using coupons. It makes much more of a difference than I thought it would.

I do many things differently because of the economy and my husband losing his job. One is we don't eat out often and I don't go out shopping much at all! Thanks for the chance to win!

The kids take bag lunches, rather than buy them. They even now prefer them!
We don't eat out anywhere near as much. Thanks!
I spend alot more time at home, because If I go out everyday, than I will be tempted to spend more money.

We do a few things but one main thing is that we always went out to eat (more than we should). So now we only go out on special occasions and always have a coupon for the place we are going.
We bought a Prius for better mileage. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
